The LittleTux.Com web server runs a client from Stanford's Folding@Home distributed computing project.
When the server isn't serving browser requests, the client applies unused CPU cycles to protein folding computations.
Proteins are biology's workhorses, and understaning how proteins work gives reseachers data needed for disease research.
You too can contribute to disease research by participating in the project.
Simply install the client on your Windows, Linux, or BSD box, and put idle CPU time to good use.
Visit the Folding@Home webpage at Stanford to get started.
