Systems Benchmarking the AMD Sempron, Pentium 4, ATOM and Core 2 Quad

Having a bunch of machines at my disposal, why not do some simple benchmarking!

One interesting observation is between the Atom and the AMD. While the Atom performs higher in
all of the individual benchmarks, the AMD comes out ahead during kernel building. Why?

These are the systems

Name CPU RAM DISK
Atom Intel ATOM 230 1.6 GHz
Hyper-Threading Enabled
2 GB DDR2 667Mhz 500 GB SATA 3.0 7200
Sempron AMD Sempron 2200+ 1.5 GHz 1 GB DDR 166/333MHz 60 GB IDE 7200
P4 Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 2 GB DDR 400 MHz (guess) 120 x 2 GB SATA 1.5 7200 (RAID0)
Quad Core Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHz 4 GB DDR2 800Mhz 1.5 TB SATA 3.0 7200

Build a Linux 2.6.18 Kernel, how fast?
